The committee is referred to as the Internet Committee in the Department of Nursing（ICDN）. This report presents some ICDN activities made in 1996. As the ICDN developed the environment for the computer network, the Internet became accessible to all laboratories in the Department. The ICDN also conducted several lectures on the basics of the Internet and supervised some exercises of the Internet to use it. The ICDN also managed JP-KANGO, the first and the only one mailing list in Japan through which the participants can discuss generally about nursing. A homepage of the Department of Nursing was established and it displayed some information about staff and students in the Department. The survey on the use of the Internet in the Department showed that about 60% of staff made use of E-mail and WWW services.
