The purpose of the project is to assist improving the safety of childbirth for women in farming villages. The project conducted together with the Gean ministry, which administers Vietnamese farming villages. The Gean model provides guidelines for Maternal and Vietnamese mothers and children health. After they finished their education as midwives, volunteers were dispatched from JICA as a short-term specialist in 2001, 2002 and 2003.
