In this article bone properties are discussed from a point of view of material science and biomechanics. The four following points are explained. (1)Why is bone comparable to steel in strength? (2)Why is long bone, such as the femur and neck bone, approximated by a hollow cylinder? (3)Why does mankind catch easily lumbagos? (4)There is an interaction between bone and earth.
